Current input option: 0–25 mA DC / ±8 mA AC max (via 324.5 Ω sense resistor)
Tacho / Keyphasor Inputs: 2 × independent, 24 V logic compatible (also accepts magnetic pickup after conditioning), > 100 kΩ input impedance, min. pulse width 10 µs
Filter Options: High-pass, Low-pass, Band-pass; slope 6 / 12 / 18 / 24 / 30 / 36 / 42 / 48 / 54 / 60 dB/octave (software-selectable); passband ripple ±0.3 dB; stopband attenuation > 50 dB
Measurement Types Supported: Shaft relative vibration (Smax, Sppmax), bearing housing absolute vibration (velocity/acceleration), casing vibration, thrust position (with MMS modules), slow roll vector subtraction, 1× / nx orbit & polar plots (via host software)
Alarm Functions: Per channel programmable Alert and Danger setpoints; time delay, hysteresis, latch/non-latch modes; alarm inhibition during startup
Front Panel: BNC connectors for raw dynamic signal monitoring; LEDs for Module OK, Alarm, Danger per channel group
Backplane Interface: VM600 proprietary bus; connects to IOC4T (I/O & Communication Card) for 4–20 mA outputs, relay driver, Ethernet/Modbus/Profibus gateway
Power Supply: +24 V DC via VM600 rack backplane (typical consumption ≈ 8–12 W)
Mechanical: 6U height (≈ 262 mm × 20 mm × 187 mm depth), approx. 0.40 kg
Operating Temperature: –25 °C to +65 °C
Humidity: 0–90 % RH non-condensing
Certifications (System Level): CE, UL, CSA; SIL 1 / SIL 2 capable (system-dependent); API 670compliant
Applicable Industries: Steam / gas / hydro turbine generator sets, compressor trains in LNG / refinery, large induced draft / forced draft fans, marine propulsion turbines, paper machine roll monitoring
Installation Requirements: Insert into designated slot of VM600 rack (ABE040 / ABE042 etc.); ensure IOC4T and RLC16/RLC04 relay cards are present for alarm handling; connect sensors observing shield grounding practice (single-point ground at preamp/probe end); download configuration via VibroSpectra or VM600 Configurator before placing in service.
Usage Notes: Always verify tacho polarity and teeth-per-rev setting — incorrect keyphasor configuration leads to wrong 1× amplitude/phase values; MPC4 is hot-swappable but alarm relays may momentarily de-energize — coordinate with machine protection logic; use BNC test points with 1 MΩ / 20 pF scope probe only to avoid loading the signal.
