AFV10D-S41101 is a dedicated valve positioner drive module under Yokogawa Centum VP DCS platform, designed for closed-loop positioning control of pneumatic control valves, electric regulating actuators and field smart positioners. Working Principle

Centum VP FCU transmits target valve opening percentage command to AFV10D-S41101 via ESB backplane bus. Internal DAC chip converts digital opening value into isolated 4–20 mA analog drive signal to control field valve positioner. Simultaneously, valve stroke feedback 4–20 mA signal is sampled by onboard ADC chip and converted to digital position value. The module internal auxiliary closed-loop logic compares target value and actual feedback value, automatically adjusting output current to eliminate valve position deviation; all abnormal loop status signals are isolated and uploaded to DCS operation station for fault alert and event logging. Superimposed HART digital signals are demodulated to read smart positioner diagnostic data.

Installation Requirements

  1. Insert horizontally into Centum VP FCU ESB backplane rack slot and fully lock front panel buckle
  2. Field 4–20 mA loop wiring must use intrinsically safety certified shielded twisted pair cables for Zone 1 deployment
  3. Total loop resistance of valve positioner and field cable cannot exceed maximum allowable 750 Ω load resistance
  4. Maintain minimum 10 mm air gap between adjacent rack modules for cabinet heat dissipation
  5. Complete valve stroke self-calibration operation after finishing all field wiring connection

Use & Maintenance Precautions

  1. Do not connect field loop load resistance exceeding 750 Ω, which causes incomplete valve stroke adjustment
  2. Cut off FCU rack main power supply before plugging/unplugging module to avoid ESB bus chip surge damage
