Application Scenarios

  • Large-scale process control systems in petrochemical and chemical industries
  • Power plant DCS systems with distributed field instrument layouts
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing process control
  • Pulp and paper production line automation
  • Water and wastewater treatment control systems

Working Principle

The module acts as a master node on the ER bus. It converts control commands and data from the upper-level DCS system into ER bus protocol signals, and distributes them to connected field instruments and I/O modules across multiple bus segments. It also collects process data and diagnostic information from field devices, converts the signals into system-compatible format, and transmits them back to the central control system. It manages bus communication timing and error correction to ensure reliable data exchange.

Installation Requirements

  • Install in designated slots of ANB10S, ANB10D or AFF50 units
  • Ensure proper alignment of backplane connectors before inserting the module
  • Use certified BNC coaxial cables for ER bus connections
  • Terminate the end of each ER bus segment with a matching terminator
  • Secure the module with the fixing screw after insertion
  • Maintain ambient temperature and humidity within rated operating ranges

Usage Notes

  • Do not connect or disconnect bus cables while the system is powered on
  • Ensure bus cable impedance matches the module specification to avoid signal reflection
  • Regularly check BNC connector tightness to prevent communication interruption
  • Firmware updates must be performed following official Yokogawa procedures
  • Do not exceed the maximum number of devices per bus segment
  • Keep the module surface clean and free of conductive dust
