ProSoft MVI56E-SIE

Product Introduction:​ The MVI56E-SIE bridges Rockwell ControlLogix PACs to Siemens S7-200/300/400/1200/1500 controllers over ISO-on-TCP (RFC1006 S7comm). The Logix side sees it as a single 1756 I/O module; the Siemens side sees up to 20 independent S7 client connections originating from the ProSoft module IP. All socket management, TSAP negotiation and PUT/GET scheduling run on the module CPU, leaving ControlLogix scan untouched.

Working Principle:​ AOI moves Logix tags into module data memory; module opens ISO-on-TCP sessions to each S7 IP, performs Fetch/Write or PUT/GET against DB/I/Q/M, writes returned values back into the mapped register file, repeats on scan or event trigger.
Installation Requirements:​ S7 CPU must enable “Permit PUT/GET from remote” in TIA/Step7; TSAP (rack/slot) on S7 side must equal PCB TSAP exactly; module IP in same subnet or routed; 800 mA 5 V budget; do not place in Slot 0.
Usage Notes:​ S7-1200/1500 default block optimization must be disabled on exchanged DBs; connection count beyond 20 needs second module; mismatch TSAP shows ERR LED but no PLC fault; XT coated version required for offshore.
