Working Principle:
The 24-bit sigma-delta ADC samples each input channel at high resolution, providing 200,000 counts for precise measurement. The microcontroller applies per-input-type linearization tables stored in firmware. Values are displayed on the dual LED lines. Every 0.5 seconds (minimum interval), the value is timestamped and stored in 16,000-point EEPROM memory. HART communication decodes diagnostics from field devices; Modbus RTU provides standard DCS communication. Alarm comparators with user-adjustable hysteresis (0.1% to 10% of span) drive the SPDT relays.
Advantages / Highlights:
- ±0.05% accuracy on mA/V inputs — the highest in the RH900 series
- 16,000-point trend memory provides the longest recording duration in the series
- HART communication enables field device diagnostics without removing the transmitter
- Gold-plated terminals ensure signal integrity for high-accuracy applications
- IP65 front panel with gasket seal for washdown environments
Applicable Industries:
- Oil and Gas (custody transfer, fiscal metering)
- Chemical Processing (precision dosing)
- Power Generation (boiler control, turbine monitoring)
- Pharmaceutical (GMP-compliant processes)
- Semiconductor Manufacturing
Installation Requirements:
- Cut 92 mm x 92 mm panel opening
- Mount with IP65 gasket and snap-in clips
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for all analog and HART connections
- RS-485: connect A, B, GND; install 120 Ω termination at bus ends
- Provide 85–265 V AC or 24 V DC power
- For HART: ensure 250 Ω loop resistor is present in the DCS I/O card
- Set Modbus address via DIP switches (unique per device on bus)
Usage Precautions:
- Do not apply > 50 V DC to any mA/V input terminal
- HART communication requires proper loop resistance (250 Ω) — verify before use
- Calibration verification recommended every 12 months for ±0.05% accuracy claims
- Do not open housing during operation — risk of electric shock and accuracy void
- Recording memory fills at 16,000 points — configure recording interval to match data retention requirements
