Working Principle

The module receives digital setpoint values from the DCS controller via the chassis backplane. An internal digital-to-analog converter converts digital data into corresponding analog current or voltage signals. These output signals drive final control elements including control valves, actuators and variable speed drives. HART digital communication is superimposed on the analog signal for bidirectional data exchange with intelligent field devices. The diagnostic circuit continuously monitors output loop health and reports fault conditions to the system controller.
