Functional Highlights
– Dual-channel front-end – each channel accepts one magnetic or eddy-current sensor; generates independent keyphasor pulses
– Multi-event mode – software-selectable to output single pulse or preserve every input event for gear-train analysis
– Redundant & TMR ready – two modules run in parallel to supply primary/secondary keyphasor signals; supports triple-modular-redundant racks
– Paired expansion – up to four modules (eight channels) in one rack for large steam turbines with multiple keyways
– Hot-swappable – insertion/extraction under rack power without interrupting protection or measurement
– Field firmware – upgrade via System 1 or Ethernet in <3 min; rollback image stored for safety
– Asset management – onboard diagnostics report sensor gap, signal level, cable integrity and module health over the same network link
– Downward compatible – drop-in replacement for legacy PWA 125792-01 and 149369-01 modules; no re-wiring required
Application Scenarios
– Steam-turbine TSI cabinets – provides speed and phase reference for eccentricity, differential expansion and vibration vector plots
– Gas-turbine packages – redundant keyphasor signals feed GE Mark VIe or Siemens SPPA-T3000 for speed control and surge protection
– LNG refrigeration compressors – multi-event mode captures gear-mesh harmonics for early tooth-fault detection
– Offshore platform centrifugal compressors – Zone-2 certification allows direct mounting in hazardous junction boxes
– Ethylene hyper-compressors – 0.1 RPM resolution detects very slow roll during start-up to prevent bearing wipe
– Pipeline pump drives – IRIG-B time-stamped keyphasor pulses align multiple racks along 500 km right-of-way
– Wind-turbine test stands – high-speed Ethernet streams real-time speed and phase data to LabVIEW for modal analysis
– Nuclear feed-water pumps – TMR configuration meets IEEE 338 requirements for safety-related speed and vibration monitoring
Installation & Maintenance
The module slides into any half-height front slot; rear-mounted I/O card (125800-01) provides coax and Euro-style connectors.
Front LEDs indicate channel health, keyphasor activity and module status.
Sensor gap voltage and pulse amplitude are continuously monitored; alarms are generated for open or shorted cables.
Replacement takes <1 min; all rack parameters remain stored non-volatilely on every monitor, so no re-configuration is necessary.
Compatibility
Fully compatible with all 3500 monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, 3500/44M, 3500/45, 3500/46M, 3500/50, 3500/60, 3500/62, 3500/70M, 3500/72M, 3500/77M, 3500/90, 3500/92, 3500/93).
Supported by System 1 v6.5 onward and by third-party OPC UA, Modbus and DNP3 clients.
