Working Principle
- Draws dual-rail ±15 V / +5 V DC stabilized power supply from TOSMAP rack backplane; multi-stage power regulation circuits supply isolated power to control logic and communication peripherals.
- Communicates via proprietary high-speed internal rack bus with all installed TOSMAP I/O modules to collect turbine speed, temperature, pressure, generator voltage and current analog measurement signals, plus digital interlock contact status signals.
- Executes fixed-cycle 10 ms real-time closed-loop control algorithms including turbine speed PID regulation, generator excitation current control, valve position feedback adjustment and equipment safety interlock logic.
- Compares real-time process operating parameters against configured safety limit thresholds; triggers digital output interlock signals and records timestamped fault trip logs to onboard Flash memory on threshold violation.
- Transmits real-time turbine operating data, alarm status and historical trend snapshots to plant central SCADA and HMI workstations via front panel Gigabit Ethernet port.
- Supports offline program upload, control logic modification and firmware upgrade via isolated RS-485 serial port using Toshiba dedicated TOSMAP engineering configuration software.

Installation Requirements
- Install into dedicated primary CPU slot position on TOSMAP 6U rack backplane; secondary redundant CPU module occupies adjacent backup slot
- Maintain minimum 12 mm vertical clearance above module passive heat sink for cabinet natural air circulation
- Torque front panel rack locking screw to 0.9 N·m to ensure full mechanical grounding with rack metal frame
- Separate Ethernet communication wiring from high-voltage AC power cables with minimum 20 cm isolation distance to suppress EMI interference
- Verify rack backplane dual-rail ±15 V / +5 V DC power supply output within factory specified tolerance range before module power-up
- Restrict RS-485 serial port wiring exclusively to isolated engineering laptop connection during configuration & firmware upgrade procedures
Operation & Maintenance Precautions
- Mandatory ESD wrist strap use during all module extraction, insertion and wiring modification operations
- Do not permit cabinet ambient temperature to exceed +60 °C continuous operating limit to prevent control loop timing drift
- Inspect PCB conformal coating integrity annually; re-coat if cracking or peeling is observed in high-humidity plant environments
- Create full backup of turbine control program and parameter setpoints to external storage before executing any CPU firmware upgrade
- Avoid hot-swap of primary CPU module during active turbine generating operation; switch to redundant backup CPU prior to removal
- Only utilize Toshiba factory original spare CPUX01-01 modules for replacement to maintain full TOSMAP system certification compliance
- Perform quarterly control loop calibration verification via Toshiba TOSMAP engineering software diagnostic tools
