Functional Features
Strong low-speed torque for feed, tension and positioning duties. Simple armature-control interface with standard DC servo amplifiers. Optional tachometer improves speed-loop stability. Resolver or encoder versions provide closed-loop position control. Brush construction allows straightforward maintenance when access is provided.
Performance Parameters
At 140 V armature the motor reaches near 3750–3800 rpm no-load maximum in the -37 winding. Base continuous stall torque around 3.2 Nm supports normal servo duty; heatsink or blower cooling increases sustainable torque. Low armature resistance supports high transient current and rapid acceleration.
Materials And Construction
Permanent-magnet stator using ferrite or rare-earth magnet material according to MT30 variant, laminated armature, copper windings, commutator, carbon brushes, steel shaft and industrial cast or fabricated frame.
Working Principle
DC supply applied to the armature creates current through windings in the fixed magnetic field. Torque is produced proportionally to armature current. The commutator switches current to maintain rotation. Tachometer, resolver or encoder feedback returns speed or position to the servo drive, which adjusts armature voltage and current.
Application Scenarios
CNC machine tools, robotics, converting equipment, textile machinery, material test systems, legacy automation retrofits and precision DC servo axes.
Installation Requirements
Mount on the standard MT flange with proper alignment. Use a DC servo drive matched to 140 V armature and current demand. Install tachometer or encoder alignment according to feedback type. Provide ventilation or heatsink/blower cooling where continuous torque exceeds base TENV values. Ground the motor frame and shield feedback cables.
Usage Notes
Inspect brush wear and commutator condition on a scheduled basis. Avoid prolonged overload above peak stall rating. Confirm tachometer gradient and encoder resolution before drive
