- Rear male edge connector locks onto analog input IOM female port
- Integrated DIN rail clip for quick slide-on rack installation
- Segmented internal PCB layout separating high-voltage surge circuits and low-level analog signal paths
Working Principle
Receives raw analog sensor signals from field cables via front screw terminals; internal TVS surge circuits suppress transient electrical spikes; isolated signal conditioning circuits route conditioned analog and superimposed HART digital signals through rear edge connector to paired analog input IOM module. Channel isolation barriers block cross-channel noise and ground potential differences between field instruments and DCS backplane.
Advantage Highlights
- All field wiring terminated on IOTA base, IOM module can be hot-swapped without field cable disconnection
- Native HART signal multiplexing eliminates external HART interface hardware
- Built-in surge protection reduces external signal isolator hardware requirements
- Compact 6-inch design minimizes cabinet space consumption for non-redundant analog input racks
- Standardized terminal labeling reduces field wiring configuration errors
Applicable Industries
All process industries utilizing 4–20 mA HART transmitters: petrochemical, oil & gas, power plant, water treatment, food processing
Installation Requirements
- Must mate exclusively with non-redundant Series-C analog input IOM (CC-PAIX01, CC-PAIH01)
- Mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail inside Class 1 industrial control cabinet
- Field analog wiring must use shielded twisted-pair cable, shield grounded only at IOTA terminal earth lug
- Maintain minimum 10 mm horizontal gap between adjacent IOTA units for heat dissipation
- Earth terminal of CC-TAIX01 must connect to cabinet protective earth bus bar
Usage Precautions
- Do not apply voltage exceeding 30 VDC transient to any field input terminal
- Avoid routing high-current power cables parallel to analog wiring connected to CC-TAIX01 terminals
- Do not over-tighten terminal screws beyond 0.8 N·m torque rating to prevent plastic terminal block cracking
- Confirm HART instrument loop resistance complies with IOM signal detection range before commissioning
- Regular visual inspection of terminal screw tightness during quarterly cabinet maintenance
