-
Stroke: 0–5 in (0–127 mm)
-
Linearity: ±0.15% to ±0.25% F.S.
-
Repeatability: ±0.025 mm
-
Sensor Element: 500 Ω wire-wound potentiometer
-
Output: Potentiometric (3-wire: +V, wiper, GND)
-
Supply: 10–30 V DC typical (24 V DC recommended)
-
Housing: Stainless steel
-
Cable: 3 ft integral cable (configurable)
-
Sealing: Nitrile O-ring
-
Temp Range: -40 °C to +85 °C
-
Ingress: IP64/IP65 depending on cable gland option
-
Weight: ~0.5 kg
Functional Features:
-
No external alignment required
-
Direct analog signal to PLC/DCS ADC
-
High cycle life stainless steel draw cable
-
Spring-loaded automatic retraction
Working Principle:
The stainless steel cable is anchored to the moving target. Displacement pulls the cable, rotating a precision drum coupled to the potentiometer wiper. Output voltage divides linearly with travel distance.
Application Scenarios:
-
Hydraulic cylinder rod position
-
Valve stem travel feedback
-
Test bench fatigue displacement
-
Conveyor trolley positioning
Installation Requirements:
-
Mount via body thread or bracket
-
Align cable in line with motion axis (avoid side angle > 2°)
-
Shield cable in high EMI areas
Usage Notes:
-
Do not exceed 5 in travel
-
Avoid sharp bends on exit cable
-
Use surge suppression if connected to long field cables
