Working Principle

The terminal receives 4–20 mA current signals from field transmitters through differential input terminals. The signal passes through filtering and conditioning circuits before being converted to digital values by a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter. The digital data is transmitted to the EtherCAT master via the E-bus interface with galvanic isolation between the field side and system side. The terminal also performs continuous diagnostics to detect open-circuit, overrange, and fault conditions, and reports status information to the master controller.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail conforming to EN 60715
  • Connect to adjacent EtherCAT terminals via E-bus contacts
  • Use shielded twisted-pair cables for analog signal wiring
  • Separate signal cables from power cables to reduce electromagnetic interference
  • Ensure proper wire termination at screw terminals
  • Install end cover at the end of the terminal strip

Usage Notes

  • Two-wire transmitters must be powered correctly in series with the input loop
  • Do not apply voltages or currents beyond the rated input range
  • Shielding of signal cables should be grounded at one end only
  • Input filter settings should be configured according to application requirements
  • Calibration verification should be performed periodically for high-accuracy applications
  • Handle terminals carefully to avoid damage to E-bus contacts
