Working Principle

When electrical power energizes the solenoid coil, magnetic force pushes the solenoid armature, which in turn shifts the valve spool axially within the valve body. Spool movement aligns internal flow passages to connect pressure port with specific working ports, directing hydraulic fluid to the appropriate side of the actuator. De-energizing the coil allows return springs to center the spool, restoring default flow paths.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount on flat machined surface with proper gasket
  • Torque mounting bolts to specified values evenly
  • Ensure hydraulic lines are clean before connection
  • Install pressure gauge ports for system diagnostics
  • Orient valve with solenoids accessible for maintenance
  • Use thread sealant or sealing washers on port connections

Operating Notes

  • Ensure hydraulic fluid cleanliness meets ISO 4406 standards
  • Verify coil voltage matches control supply
  • Do not exceed maximum pressure and flow ratings
  • Periodically check for external leaks
  • Use surge suppression on solenoid coil circuits
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures before service
