OMEGA OS550

Brief Introduction:
The OS550 (superseded by OS550A) is a high-performance industrial infrared pyrometer housed in an IP65/NEMA 4 enclosure, offering selectable temperature spans, adjustable emissivity, dual high/low alarms, and 4–20 mA / 0–5 V / 1 mV/°C analog outputs. It is used for monitoring moving or hazardous surfaces where contact measurement is impossible.

Installation & Precautions:
  • Ensure target fills at least the minimum spot size; if target is smaller, accuracy degrades
  • Clean lens periodically with compressed air or soft lens tissue — NEVER touch germanium/glass lens with fingers
  • Shield from steam, dust, or high-energy RF; use air purge collar if needed
  • Verify emissivity of material at measurement wavelength (8–14 µm) — polished metals need very low ε or 2-color pyrometer
