Honeywell MC-TAMR04

Product Name
Honeywell MC-TAMR04 Low-Level Analog Input Multiplexer RTD Field Termination Assembly
Product Introduction
The MC-TAMR04 is a low-level analog multiplexer and field termination assembly designed for RTD temperature acquisition in Honeywell TDC 3000 and PMIO architectures. It uses solid-state switching to route multiple resistance temperature detectors to the low-level multiplexer processor.

  • Turbine and rotating equipment bearing temperature arrays
  • Petrochemical, power generation and utility thermal monitoring
  • HVAC and large building plant temperature scanning
  • Process furnaces and ovens with multiple RTD points
Performance Parameters
  • 16-channel density reduces individual transmitter hardware
  • Solid-state switching provides fast, contactless multiplexing
  • 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire support improves lead-compensation accuracy
  • 24 VDC operation aligns with Honeywell PMIO rack power
Material And Construction
  • Industrial FTA base with molded terminal carriers
  • Solid-state relay matrix and isolation components
  • Pluggable or fixed compression terminals per system build
  • Cabinet-rated enclosure materials suitable for control room installation
Working Principle
Each RTD connects to a pair of FTA terminals. The solid-state relay matrix sequentially connects one RTD channel to the multiplexer measurement circuit. The processor measures resistance, converts it to temperature using the selected RTD curve, and applies lead-wire compensation for 3-wire or 4-wire sensors. Open-circuit conditions are flagged during the scan cycle.
Installation Requirements
  • Mount in TDC 3000 or PMIO I/O rack and FTA location defined by engineering drawings
  • Use properly sized RTD cable with separate shielding for sensor groups
  • Select 2-wire, 3-wire or 4-wire terminal assignment according to sensor type
  • Connect 24 VDC rack supply and verify backplane communication
  • Keep RTD lead resistance within system allowable limits
Usage Precautions
  • Use RTD sensors only; the LLMUX2 RTD version does not accept thermocouple inputs
  • Do not install in redundant processor pairs unless system rules permit
  • Verify channel mapping before starting multiplexer scan
  • Inspect compression terminals for oxidation and tightness during maintenance
  • De-energize rack supply before removing FTA or rewiring sensors
