Working Principle:
The drive rectifies 230 V AC input to a 325 V DC bus. The IGBT inverter switches at 8 kHz to synthesize three-phase sinusoidal currents for the servo motor. The current loop (8 kHz) controls motor torque, the velocity loop (1 kHz) controls speed, and the position loop (1 kHz) controls position. The encoder feedback closes all three loops. Sercos III or EtherCAT provides the trajectory setpoints from the B&R controller.
