Functional Highlights
– Multi-measurement – each channel programmable for radial vibration, thrust position, eccentricity, differential expansion or REBAM
– Dual alarms – independent Warning and Danger set-points per channel with programmable delays and latching logic
– OK status – continuous verification of sensor, cable and monitor integrity; relay driven into safe state on fault
– Peak-hold – stores maximum speed or displacement value for post-event analysis
– Hot-swap – insertion/extraction under power without interrupting rack operation or protection
– Field firmware – upgrade via System 1 or Ethernet in <3 min; rollback image stored for safety
– TMR ready – certified for Triple Modular Redundant racks where 2-out-of-3 voting is required
– Asset management – onboard diagnostics report probe gap, signal level, cable integrity and module health over the same network link
Application Scenarios
– Steam & gas turbine TSI cabinets – monitor shaft radial vibration and thrust position to prevent blade contact or bearing wipe
– Offshore platform centrifugal compressors – protect against surge-induced axial movement and high radial vibration
– LNG refrigeration trains – detect mis-alignment and imbalance in multi-stage compressors
– Ethylene hyper-compressors – monitor rod-drop and cross-head vibration for early rider-ring wear detection
– Cross-country pipeline pump stations – protect motor-driven pumps from cavitation and bearing failure
– Steel mill blast-furnace blowers – measure gearbox housing vibration to prevent tooth breakage
– Wind-turbine test stands – track nacelle acceleration and main-bearing displacement for modal analysis
– Nuclear feed-water pumps – TMR configuration meets IEEE 338 requirements for safety-related vibration monitoring
Installation & Maintenance
The module slides into any full-height front slot; rear-mounted Euro-style connectors accept proximity probe or accelerometer wiring.
Front LEDs indicate channel health, alarm status and OK state.
Probe gap voltage and signal amplitude are continuously monitored; alarms are generated for open or shorted cables.
Replacement takes <1 min; all rack parameters remain stored non-volatilely on every monitor, so no re-configuration is necessary.
Compatibility
Backward- and forward-compatible with every 3500/40M monitor I/O card (125680-01, 135489-01, 135489-02, 135489-03, 135489-04).
Supported by System 1 v6.5 onward and by third-party OPC UA, Modbus and DNP3 clients.
