Function Features​
Integrated laser protection circuitry, constant-current and constant-power modes, external modulation input, dual-loop temperature control, multiple sensor compatibility and modular installation in LDC-3900 mainframe.
Structure Characteristics​
Controller card with laser drive output, TEC output, photodiode monitor input and sensor input. Laser I/O 9-pin D-sub and TEC I/O 15-pin D-sub on configured module versions. Internal low-noise current source, TEC H-bridge, ADC monitoring and firmware control section.
Working Principle​
The current source forces set laser current through the diode while the photodiode monitors optical output for constant-power mode. The TEC controller compares sensor temperature to setpoint and drives a Peltier element to heat or cool the laser mount until the setpoint is held. Modulation input superimposes high-bandwidth current changes on the DC bias.
Installation Requirements​
Install only in a compatible LDC-3900 mainframe with correct slot configuration. Use specified 9-pin laser and 15-pin TEC cabling. Connect thermistor/RTD according to sensor type. Set compliance voltage, current limit and temperature limit before laser power-up.
Usage Precautions​
Never exceed 6 V laser compliance or 500 mA set current. Keep TEC within 12 W and ±2 A limits. Use soft-start and current ramping to avoid laser die damage. Verify photodiode polarity and reverse bias before constant-power mode. Do not bypass laser protection or operate with unknown diode impedance.
