HUBNER GIESSEN LWLS-T-1-625125

Product Name
Hubner Giessen LWLS-T-1 fiber optic incremental transmitter for encoder signal conversion, 62.5/125 µm version.
Introduction
LWLS-T-1-625125 is a fiber optic link transmitter in the Hubner Giessen LWLS program. It converts incremental encoder signals into optical signals for long-distance, interference-free transmission to a matching LWLS decoder. The 625125 suffix denotes 62.5/125 µm glass fiber compatibility.
Category:
Description
Technical Specifications
Supply voltage 12-30 V DC. No-load current approximately 35 mA at 24 V DC. Signal inputs incremental A, B and N with inverted channels and status as applicable; supported levels HTL or TTL/RS422. Frequency range 0-100 kHz. Optical output 850 nm via ST plug connector. Fiber 62.5/125 µm glass fiber, also compatible with 50/125 µm per general LWLS documentation. Transmitter housing dimensions 23 x 120 x 115 mm for standard rail type. Protection IP20 for switchboard transmitter. Operating temperature -20 °C to 70 °C for LWLS-T standard rail transmitter.
Functional Features
Converts HTL or TTL incremental encoder output to optical transmission. Supports A0/A90/N and inverted channels plus status. Uses one fiber for full incremental data. Provides constant cycle time below 2 µs from transmitter input to decoder output in the LWLS system. Optional cable-break and status monitoring. Optional galvanic isolation between output blocks on LWLS-Di decoders.
Application Scenarios
Long-distance encoder transmission in power plants, steel mills, ports and cranes, electromagnetic-interference-heavy drive rooms, offshore panels, and process lines where copper encoder cables would be subject to noise, grounding loops or span limits beyond 100 m.
Performance Parameters
0-100 kHz incremental throughput, 850 nm optical link, ST connector, 12-30 V DC supply, 35 mA no-load at 24 V, cycle delay below 2 µs in transmitter-to-decoder path, transmission distance up to 1000 m depending on fiber, connectors and decoder model.
Material Composition
Standard transmitter uses molded electronic housing for DIN/rail mounting with printed circuit board, optoelectronic transmitter, terminal block and ST fiber adapter. Outdoor LWL-T variant uses die-cast aluminum housing. Fiber is glass multimode 62.5/125 µm or 50/125 µm.
Structural Characteristics
LWLS-T rail transmitter measures 23 x 120 x 115 mm, IP20, terminal and ST connector access on the outside. Outdoor LWL-T measures 125 x 80 x 57 mm, IP66, die-cast aluminum, terminal box style. Decoder LWLS-D/D i shares the 23 x 120 x 115 mm rail form factor.
Working Principle
The transmitter receives A/B/N incremental signals from the encoder. Internal electronics convert these levels to a serialized optical data stream. The 850 nm source launches the stream through the 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber to a decoder. The decoder reconstructs HTL or TTL A/B/N and status for the controller, preserving isolation and eliminating copper-ground loop errors.
Installation Requirements
Mount LWLS-T on a standard rail in a control cabinet with IP20 environment. Provide 12-30 V DC auxiliar power. Connect encoder A, B, N and inverted pairs to the terminal block. Fit ST connectors to 62.5/125 µm fiber and polish/inspect end faces. Connect the far end to an LWLS-D or LWLS-Di decoder set for HTL or TTL controller input. For outdoor runs use the LWL-T aluminum housing with IP66 rating.
Usage Precautions
Use only 62.5/125 or 50/125 multimode glass fiber with ST connectors as specified; do not substitute singlemode components without decoder compatibility confirmation. Keep bend radius within fiber manufacturer limits. Verify HTL or TTL matching between encoder, transmitter and decoder. Inspect ST contacts for dust and oxidation. Enable cable-break monitoring where safety or process continuity requires fiber fault detection.
