Johnson Controls MS-NAE5510-01

Product Name
Johnson Controls MS-NAE5510-01 Metasys NAE55 network automation engine
Product Introduction
MS-NAE5510-01 is an NAE55-family supervisory network engine for Metasys building automation. It coordinates field controllers, manages schedules, alarms, trends and integration data, and provides IP-based access to HVAC, lighting and related building systems. The -01 suffix represents a specific order configuration; the core hardware baseline matches the NAE5510 platform.

Functional Features
Supervisory control and coordination across multiple field trunks. Web and enterprise integration through Ethernet. Alarm, trend, schedule and database functions. Battery-backed memory retains configuration and operational data during power interruption. LED diagnostics show power, communication and fault states.
Performance Parameters
Two independent field trunks with up to 100 devices each provide scalable integration for medium and large building networks. 512 MB flash stores firmware, configuration and historical data. 256 MB DRAM supports real-time control execution and communication buffering.
Materials And Construction
Plastic outer housing with internal metal shielding for electromagnetic performance. DIN, wall or panel mounting hardware options. Removable terminal blocks and standard RJ-type serial and Ethernet connectors.
Working Principle
The engine communicates with field equipment controllers over N2 or BACnet MS/TP trunks and with the enterprise over Ethernet. It executes control strategies, collects point data, evaluates alarms and trends, and sends commands to connected HVAC, lighting and auxiliary systems. The data battery preserves volatile information during power loss.
Application Scenarios
Commercial buildings, hospitals, campuses, industrial facilities, airports and government sites for HVAC supervision, lighting control, energy monitoring, alarm management and integration of Metasys field controllers.
Installation Requirements
Mount on DIN rail, wall plate or panel in a dry ventilated enclosure. Connect only the specified 24 VAC isolated supply. Install MS-BAT1010 before power-up where required. Terminate Ethernet and RS-485 cables with proper grounding. Set end-of-line termination only on the physical ends of each bus segment.
Usage Notes
Confirm the exact -01 order configuration, firmware release and certification package before replacement. Keep battery replacement interval according to Metasys guidelines. Back up the controller database before firmware changes. Validate N2 and BACnet device addressing to avoid trunk conflicts.
