Application Scenarios

  • Industrial process temperature monitoring and control
  • Manufacturing plant equipment temperature measurement
  • HVAC and building automation systems
  • Power generation and distribution equipment thermal monitoring
  • Distributed control system (DCS) and PLC system temperature signal acquisition

Working Principle

The module supplies excitation current to each connected RTD sensor, measures the voltage drop across the sensor, and calculates the corresponding resistance value. The internal processor converts the resistance value to temperature data based on the RTD type-specific linearization curve. The temperature data is digitized and transmitted to the host CPU via the Genius bus. The module continuously monitors input circuit status and reports fault conditions when anomalies such as short circuit or open circuit are detected.

Installation Requirements

  • Can be mounted horizontally or vertically, vertical orientation is recommended for heat dissipation
  • Maintain minimum 38 mm spacing between blocks for adequate air flow
  • Use shielded twisted pair cables for RTD sensor wiring
  • Connect the module to the Genius bus network with proper termination
  • Install in a location protected from dust, moisture and corrosive gases

Material & Structure

  • Industrial-grade plastic housing with flame-retardant properties
  • Internal integrated analog signal conditioning circuit and microprocessor
  • Screw terminal block for reliable field wiring
  • Status indicator LEDs for power, communication and fault diagnosis

Usage Notes

  • Select the correct RTD type configuration in software to ensure measurement accuracy
  • Use 3-wire or 4-wire RTD connection for best measurement performance
  • Do not exceed the maximum input voltage rating
  • Ensure proper grounding to avoid measurement errors caused by common mode interference
  • Periodically verify measurement accuracy with calibrated temperature sources
