Working Principle
Receives Ethernet traffic from control zone and plant IT/IIoT network ports; onboard firewall ASIC executes preconfigured industrial ACL security rules to filter unauthorized cross-zone data packets, permitting only approved DCS control protocol traffic between network segments. Switching fabric forwards valid packets to target ports with wire-speed low latency; RSTP protocol automatically reconfigures ring network topology upon cable/port failure. Dual redundant power circuits continuously monitor both input feeds, seamlessly switching power source without network interruption if one feed fails. All network faults, traffic anomalies and security rule violations are logged and transmitted to Experion PKS HMI for operator visibility.
