Working Principle
Receives duplicate analog control output signals from primary and secondary redundant analog output IOM modules via dual rear connectors; internal signal priority switching circuits select active primary IOM signal for transmission to field actuator terminals. If primary IOM fault occurs, circuit automatically switches to secondary IOM output without interruption to field control device. Per-channel current limiting circuits cut off excess load current upon field wiring short circuit to protect IOM hardware. HART digital signals superimposed on analog current waveforms are multiplexed bidirectionally between IOM and field HART actuators.
Advantage Highlights
- Single field wiring terminal set eliminates duplicate actuator cable runs for redundant control loops
- Sub-7ms switchover time maintains continuous analog valve/drive control without process disruption
- Per-channel independent short-circuit protection prevents cross-channel fault propagation
- Integrated HART communication hardware removes external HART interface requirement
- SIL 2 compliant redundant analog output architecture for safety critical process control
Applicable Industries
Refinery reactor control, power plant boiler valve actuation, offshore oil platform flow control, chemical batch process, pharmaceutical sterile production safety loops
Installation Requirements
- Must pair with two identical redundant analog output IOM modules
- Mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail inside Class 1 industrial control cabinet
- Analog actuator wiring uses shielded twisted-pair cable, shield grounded only at CC-TAON11 earth lug
- Maintain minimum 12 mm horizontal gap between adjacent IOTA units for heat dissipation
- Dedicated cabinet protective earth bus connection mandatory to IOTA ground terminal
Usage Precautions
- Do not connect field actuator load resistance exceeding 1200 Ω per output channel
- Both paired redundant analog output IOM modules must operate matching firmware versions
- Avoid parallel routing of high-current power cables adjacent to analog output wiring
- Do not over-tighten terminal screws beyond specified torque to prevent plastic terminal block cracking
- Verify HART actuator loop resistance before commissioning to ensure stable digital communication
