Working Principle

Light enters mounted Nikon F-mount lens, reflects via pentamirror reflex assembly into optical viewfinder for live composition preview. Upon shutter release, reflex mirror lifts upward to expose CCD image sensor to incoming light; analog pixel signal from CCD transfers to EXPEED imaging processor for digital signal conversion, noise reduction, color gamut correction and Dynamic D-Lighting contrast adjustment. Processed digital image data writes to inserted SD/SDHC memory card storage. Built-in dust reduction system generates high-frequency mechanical vibration of CCD sensor surface upon power startup to dislodge accumulated dust particles; airflow control channel evacuates dislodged dust out of camera body internal cavity. 3D Matrix Metering II samples light intensity across 420 separate sensor zones to calculate accurate automatic exposure values before each capture cycle.

Applicable Industries

Amateur consumer photography, student photography education, travel documentary shooting, entry-level commercial portrait auxiliary shooting, campus event recording, hobby landscape photography

Installation Requirements

  1. Mount lens via standard Nikon F bayonet mount; align lens index dot with camera body mount dot and rotate clockwise until mechanical lock clicks
  2. Insert SD/SDHC memory card with gold contact pins facing inward toward sensor compartment
  3. Load fully charged EN-EL9/EN-EL9A lithium battery with positive/negative terminals matching compartment polarity marking
  4. Mount tripod through 1/4 inch UNC threaded socket on camera bottom plate; ensure mounting screw full engagement without over-tightening

Usage Precautions

  1. Power off camera body before lens disassembly to avoid sensor static damage and AF circuit short-circuit
  2. Avoid direct sunlight irradiation onto CCD sensor with shutter open; prolonged strong light exposure causes permanent pixel burn-in
  3. Operate only within ambient temperature range of 0 °C to +40 °C; prohibit shooting under sub-zero uninsulated environments without thermal protection
  4. Do not touch CCD sensor surface with bare fingers, cloth or liquid cleaning agents; utilize official Nikon sensor cleaning kit only
  5. Remove battery and memory card if equipment will remain idle for over 30 consecutive days to prevent terminal oxidation and data loss
  6. Avoid exposure to high-humidity, dusty, saline coastal atmosphere without sealed storage bag protection
