  4. Transmit packaged data to upper HMI, remote SCADA or third-party control equipment via RS485 external port
  5. Receive downward control commands from upper system through external communication port
  6. Decode control commands and transmit to corresponding I/O modules through internal PIC2 bus to complete on-site equipment control
  7. Real-time monitor communication port short circuit, disconnection and data transmission error faults, trigger front panel alarm indicator

Installation Requirements

  1. Insert into dedicated PIC2 communication slot of Metso BIU8 backplane, lock side buckles tightly after insertion
  2. Reserve 25 mm heat dissipation gap between adjacent modules to ensure air convection heat dissipation
  3. External RS485 communication wiring must use shielded twisted pair, shielding layer single-point grounding inside control cabinet
  4. Aviation plug wiring must follow pin definition sequence strictly, disordered wiring causes communication failure
  5. Cabinet internal ambient temperature must not exceed maximum 70°C operating limit, install cooling fan if heat accumulation exists
  6. For long-distance communication wiring over 1000 m, install signal repeater at wiring middle section

Usage Precautions

  1. External communication port wiring cannot access high-voltage power signals, will burn isolation transformer and main control chip
  2. Do not pull out module during high-speed data transmission, will cause temporary DCS communication interruption
  3. Avoid metal debris falling into front panel aviation plug socket, cause short-circuit communication fault
  4. Regularly check aviation plug wiring tightness every 3 months, vibration easily leads to loose pins
  5. Long-term shutdown storage requires placing in dry constant temperature environment, avoid circuit board three-proof coating aging
  6. When communication fault occurs, first check external wiring continuity, then replace module for troubleshooting
