Working Principle:

The relay continuously samples voltage and current signals via CTs and VTs. The internal DSP calculates the apparent impedance (Z = V/I) for each phase. If the impedance falls within the characteristic zone boundary (mho circle or quadrilateral), the relay issues a trip command. GOOSE messages transmit trip signals to circuit breakers over the station LAN with <4 ms latency. The relay also monitors breaker status via binary inputs to detect breaker failure.
