Product Introduction​
KW3400F is the frame-only version of the KW 400 A molded-case breaker. It includes the K-frame structure, operating mechanism and adjustable thermal-magnetic trip provision but is supplied without terminals, allowing distributors or panel builders to add specific terminal kits, lugs and accessories.

Function Features​
Adjustable thermal and magnetic thresholds provide customized overload and short-circuit protection. Terminal-free frame supports flexible lug selection for busbar, cable and panel integration. Compatible with Eaton Series C K-frame accessories and separate trip units where required.
Structure Characteristics​
Insulated molded case, three-pole contact stack, adjustable bimetal thermal element compartment, magnetic actuator compartment, arc chute channels and manual operating handle. Terminal mounting faces are left open for field-fitted pressure terminals or copper/aluminum connectors.
Working Principle​
Same thermal-magnetic operation as KW3400: bimetal deflection for overload, electromagnetic armature for instantaneous short-circuit release. The frame transmits trip motion to the contact arms and isolates live parts through the molded enclosure.
Installation Requirements​
Install by qualified electrical personnel. Fit approved Eaton terminal kits matching conductor type and torque values. Confirm trip unit calibration before energization. Verify frame mounting clearances, ventilation and barrier requirements in the enclosure. For systems above 415 V AC, confirm the complete breaker assembly breaking rating rather than the 415 V frame-only rating alone.
Usage Precautions​
Never energize as frame-only without properly installed terminals and trip unit. Do not exceed 600 V AC or 250 V DC. Confirm kAIC at the actual system voltage; 45 kAIC applies at 415 V AC for this frame-only listing. Periodically verify thermal and magnetic set points after heavy fault duty.
