Working Principle:

The 8MSA3L.E0-31 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with surface-mounted NdFeB magnets on the rotor. The stator contains 3-phase windings arranged for sinusoidal back-EMF.  The hollow shaft allows integration of pneumatic tubes, cable harnesses, or cooling lines directly through the motor body.

Usage Precautions:

  • Do not exceed 6,000 rpm — bearing speed limit, overspeed causes mechanical failure
  • Hollow shaft must not be used for torque transmission — it is for cable/air routing only
  • Encoder cable (EnDat 2.2) must not be bent below 50mm radius — signal loss occurs
  • PTC temperature sensor must be connected to drive — disconnection disables thermal protection
  • Do not disassemble motor housing — loss of IP65 rating and magnet demagnetization risk
