3. Functional Features

• Communication Bridge: It serves as a bridge between the SLC 500 series PLC and Profibus network devices, facilitating seamless data exchange between the SLC processor and Profibus DP remote I/O devices.
• High – Capacity Scanning: Can scan up to 96 slaves, with each slave supporting up to 244 bytes of input data and 244 bytes of output data, meeting the needs of large – scale distributed I/O systems.
• Multiple Baud Rate Support: Supports all standard Profibus baud rates from 9600 baud to 12 M baud, providing flexibility in network configuration and compatibility with different devices on the Profibus network.
• Status and Diagnostic Information: Provides module status and network information, including slave status for each slave, network diagnostic counters, DP master diagnostic counters, and FDL diagnostic counters, which helps in troubleshooting and maintaining the network.
• Dual – Role Functionality: Can act as a Profibus DP remote I/O scanner and also as a DP slave to another DP master on the same network, offering more flexible network integration options.
