ProSoft MVI69-MNET Modbus TCP

  • Technical Specifications
    • Power and Mechanical Parameters
      • It has a maximum current load of 800 mA at 5 VDC power supply. It adopts a standard 1769 single-slot design and is compatible with the 1769 backplane, which can be smoothly installed into the corresponding CompactLogix chassis.
      • It is recognized as a standard input and output module by the CompactLogix system, enabling unobstructed access to processor memory for smooth data transfer between the processor and the module.
    • Communication Parameters
      • It is equipped with a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet-compatible interface. The server driver can support connections to up to five Modbus TCP/IP clients through service port 502 with standard MBAP messaging, and another five clients through Modbus RTU/ASCII on service port 2000.
      • The client driver can actively read and write data with Modbus TCP/IP-compatible devices, and a single client can support up to 100 commands that can be sent to one or multiple servers. All data mapping of the module starts from Modbus register 40001.
    • Compatibility Parameters
      • It is compatible with all CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP controllers, but it cannot be used with 1769-QBFC1B, 1769-L16X and 1769-L18X models. It supports Enron, Daniels and other floating-point data types to meet diverse data processing needs.

Description
  • Functional Features
    • Flexible Dual-Role Communication Capability
      • It can work as both a Modbus TCP/IP server and a client. As a server, it can connect to multiple clients simultaneously to meet the needs of multi-device access and data acquisition. As a client, it can actively send up to 100 commands to multiple servers, realizing centralized control and data collection of multiple external devices.
      • The configurable client parameters include a minimum response delay ranging from 0 to 65535 milliseconds, allowing users to adjust according to the real-time requirements of the industrial site to optimize data transmission efficiency.
    • Sufficient Data Space and Stable Transfer
      • The 5000 16-bit register data space provides sufficient storage capacity for data interaction between the processor and the Modbus TCP/IP network, avoiding data loss due to insufficient storage space during large-volume data transmission.
      • The asynchronous data transfer method separates the processor’s data transfer from the Modbus TCP/IP network’s actions, preventing mutual interference and ensuring the stability of both the processor’s operation and data transmission.
    • Convenient Configuration and Maintenance
      • Configuration is implemented by downloading a configuration text file to the module, and the provided sample configuration file can reduce the difficulty of initial setup for users. The ladder logic is used for data transfer between the module and the processor, and the included sample ladder file can be directly applied in many scenarios.
      • Users can obtain communication error codes, success-failure counters, port states and module diagnostic data in a timely manner, which helps quickly locate communication failures and shorten troubleshooting time.
    • Strong Adaptability to Diverse Data Types
      • Its support for multiple floating-point data types such as Enron and Daniels enables it to adapt to different data formats of various industrial devices. It can accurately parse and process data from different external devices without additional data conversion modules.
  • Application Scenarios
    • Industrial Process Control Systems
      • In chemical and metallurgical process control links, the module connects CompactLogix controllers with Modbus TCP/IP-compatible sensors, valves and transmitters. It realizes real-time collection of parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow in the production process, and sends control instructions from the controller to the on-site execution equipment to ensure the stability of the production process.
    • Machine Monitoring Stations
      • In automobile manufacturing and electronic component processing workshops, it connects the workshop’s CompactLogix control system with multiple machine tool monitoring devices that support Modbus TCP/IP. It collects operating parameters and fault information of each machine tool in a centralized manner, and displays the data on the central monitoring platform to facilitate maintenance personnel to grasp the equipment status in real time.
      • In water treatment plants, it links the MicroLogix controller with water quality detection instruments and water pump control modules. It transmits water quality index data such as turbidity and pH value to the controller, and the controller sends start-stop and speed-adjustment commands to the water pump according to the data to ensure stable operation of the water treatment process.
    • Industrial Data Acquisition Systems
      • In power distribution rooms of factories and commercial buildings, it connects power monitoring instruments with the CompactLogix system. It collects data such as voltage, current and power consumption in real time, and transmits the data to the background management system through the Modbus TCP/IP network to provide data support for energy management and consumption analysis.
    • Legacy Equipment Upgrade Projects
      • When old industrial equipment with Modbus TCP/IP communication functions needs to be connected to new CompactLogix control systems, this module can quickly establish a communication link. It avoids the need to replace the entire set of legacy equipment, reduces the cost of system upgrades, and ensures the continuity of production operations.
